Kensa Joined by New Board Appointment
Fresh from winning first prize in the world’s top sustainability contest – the Ashden Awards – Kensa’s management team has been strengthened by the appointment of Nick Coppin to their Board of Directors.
Nick is the Managing Director of Wardell Armstrong International Ltd, the UK’s leading energy and earth resources consultancy company that provides specialist consultancy services to the mining, renewable energy and environmental industries.
Wardell Armstrong International are based at the Wheal Jane Mine, which is just across the Bissoe valley from Kensa’s Mount Wellington Mine site providing a spiritual link between the two businesses – indeed, the two mines are still linked underground via the flooded workings.
“Kensa is one of the UK’s fastest growing renewable energy companies”, explained Nick “and I am delighted to play my part in guiding the company through its future developments. Kensa’s range of ground source heat pumps are quite simply the best on the market, and we will build on this strength to continue to take large slices of the market from imported heat pumps, which are often not as well suited to the UK market as our Cornish heat pumps“.
Kensa Engineering is the UK’s only manufacturer of a full range of ground source heat pumps suitable for commercial and domestic applications. Ground source heat pumps take renewable energy from the ground and convert this to useful energy for heating buildings and providing domestic hot water. As well as reducing fuel costs, ground source heat pumps can significantly reduce carbon emissions compared to traditional heating systems using fossil fuels.
Richard Freeborn, Kensa’s Executive Chairman and founder, welcomed Nick to the Board. “Nick brings with him a wealth of experience in the renewable energy sector, and has overseen the dramatic growth of Wardell Armstrong International in recent years. He will bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to Kensa which we intend to exploit to the full.”
