Giles Chichester MEP Investigates Heat Pumps at Kensa
South West MEP, Giles Chichester visited Kensa Engineering at the Mount Wellington Mine site at Bissoe near Truro on Friday
15th February.
“For the first time, Mr. Chichester had an opportunity to take a detailed look at the heat pump technology that we’ve developed” stated Kensa’s Chairman Richard Freeborn. “He looked at the heat pumps themselves including some demonstration models, as well as learning about the “slinky” ground arrays that we make. He was impressed with our dramatic increase in orders from the house building industry, as well as schools and commercial buildings, as the construction industry gradually adopts heat pumps for all new buildings”.
Mr. Chichester was then taken on a tour of the 20 acre site, and was able to see the renovation of the mine’s buildings, and the clever way that they had been adapted for their new renewable energy manufacturing use.
RNLI Heat Pumps
Mr.Chichester was also able to view heat pumps under manufacture for the RNLI. “All new RNLI lifeboats are now fitted with a Kensa heat pump as standard” continued Mr.Freeborn “They have to work upside down, take a 6G shock loading and run for five years without any servicing or maintenance. Mr.Chichester took a keen interest in these particular heat pumps, as, like his father, he is a keen yachtsman himself”.
